Winter 2010 classes!

January 11th, 2010 · 3:50 pm  →  Blog  Class

Starting January 12th, Vibe kicks off it’s Winter Quarter of classes!

We are continuing our Beyond Guitar Hero class on Wednesday afternoons with Kyle Williams, and this quarter we are beginning our newest class: Vibe Vocals; taught by local music educator and vocalist, Chris Adams-Brown. Vibe is extremely excited to be expanding our offerings to students at Harrison Park in SE Portland.

Our Thursday class is a continuation of our Arts Foundations series taught by local artist, Mary Dixon. This quarter our students will be working with a variety of 2D and 3D art projects from fabric collages to paper mache´.

In addition to our group classes, Vibe has started working individually with students. We have one student taking individual piano lessons before school with jazz pianist, Andrew Oliver.

If you are interested in donating your time, supplies, or money to support Vibe’s classes- your support is greatly appreciated!

Give the Arts this Holiday!

December 8th, 2009 · 4:32 pm  →  Blog  Events

Vibe of Portland, in its second year of classes in SE Portland, is inspiring and encouraging middle school students in the arts! Through our art class, guitar class and soon to be choir class, students at Harrison Park K-8 are enjoying the individual attention and instruction in art and music.
Consider donating a holiday gift in honor of your loved one to provide continuing arts education to the students in the high need and diverse neighborhood of Southeast Portland. Your donation is critical to the ongoing success and growth of Vibe.

Your donation will go directly to impact student lives. You and the person your donation honors will receive a handmade card from our art students and beautifully designed Holiday card from local artist, Susan Langenes. Donations are accepted via check through our P.O Box or through our Google Merchant online- just click on the Donate Button on the right side of your screen.

“Hurst”, a private garden on the Willamette bluff, is rarely open to the public. It was designed by internationally established landscape designer Michael Schultz, who has been featured in numerous books and magazines in the course of his long career. Michael and his partner, Will Goodman, purchased three adjoining properties and over the last decade have transformed them into one amazing experience. Their oasis is lush with gorgeous and unusual plantings, and full of fountains, sculpture, and architectural ornament. Guests will stroll through this private Eden, enjoying both the intimacy and grandeur of this large garden, while sipping fine wine and feasting on delicious hors d’ oeuvres during a silent auction to raise money for Vibe of Portland’s after school classes in arts and music.
