Our Teachers
Laura Streib: received her Masters Degree in Music Performance at Portland State University. While studying in downtown Portland she discovered the need for art and music within the schools here in the Portland Metro area. After graduation in 2006, Laura began laying the foundations for what is now Vibe. Laura also plays her oboe and English Horn with ensembles and musicians around Portland.
Chris Adams-Brown: Local vocalist and music educator has taught our Music Foundations class and is now directing Vibe Voices (choir).
Mary Dixon: Mary graduated from PNCA with a BFA in Sculpture. She has worked with both PNCA’s Outreach and smARTworks Programs as well as teaching Vibe’s Art Foundations and soon to be Pint-Size Picasso classes. She recently completed an artist-in-residency at Lane Middle School. Mary also works as a muralist in private homes.
Andrew Oliver: A Portland based pianist, composer and arranger who has been teaching individual lessons to Vibe students. Some of his ensembles include the Andrew Oliver Sextet and Andrew Oliver Kora band.
Kyle Williams: Local guitarist, composer and arranger has been teaching Beyond Guitar Hero with Vibe since last Winter Quarter. Kyle is also busy teaching his own private studio, writing music for film, and performing with the Murder Trio, Rainbow Jive Hammer, and Retake Productions to name a few.
