We believe that art and music can lift, inspire and beautify us all. This is why we provide an environment where Portland’s youth can discover, experience and learn about their own artistic passion.

Our programs include after school programs at local Portland schools: Harrison Park, Kelly Elementary, Creative Sciences School, and Bridger

Creative Outlet

Our Creative Outlet Art Studio at TaborSpace provides kids ages 3 and up with a variety of fine-art classes. Children are encouraged to play with art materials and become empowered as they discover their own intuitive response in their artmaking.

PLAY

Opening in September 2011, the PLAY music studio at TaborSpace gives kids an affordable and fun way to learn the piano and musical foundations in a group music setting. Pianos provided by Rodgers Instruments and the Roland Corporation.

Thanks in part to a generous grant from the Regional Arts and Cultural Council and Work for Art, Vibe will be hosting monthly FREE art open studios at the Creative Outlet Art Studio at TaborSpace . We will be starting our next community mosaic on Monday January 16th (Martin Luther King Jr. Day) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. These open studios will be once a month and free to the public.

* Pint Size Picasso & YogaPint Size Picasso & Yoga

Preschool age artists experiment with different art materials- learning about line, shape, color and texture. During our Pint Size Picasso classes on Tuesday and Saturday, Vibe is partnering with Yoga Union to offer Yoga classes during the art classes for moms and child care providers. Yoga classes are /class or for the entire quarter.

In this mixed media class, students will explore a wide range of fine art material while using their creativity. Play and experimentation with materials and subject matter will be encouraged so that students expand their knowledge and skills through the exploration of various new projects.

Vibe’s choir, inspired by the hit TV series GLEE, is back! Led by Lena Poet, students will be singing their hearts out to fabulous pop arrangements while learning vocal technique and musicianship basics! Look for them performing in the near future!

Vibe is bringing a social aspect to piano lessons by having groups of up to 6 students share in learning basic keyboard skills. An affordable and social way to learn the piano! Taught by local performing musicians- students will have both individual and group attention. Only /lesson!

AF class is for 3-5th grade students to explore various art techniques and collaborative projects – taught by Charlotte Rodenburg on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Students will learn to practice observational drawing without focusing on the end result. The practice of observational drawing results in a student beginning to trust their inherent abilities, increased confidence and skills naturally improving. This class will also provide students with the opportunity to experience a variety of drawing media including, pencil, charcoal, oil crayon, chalk pastel and ink.
